Barriers to technology integration in the A-level history classroom in Northern Ireland

Technology has the potential to enhance learning; however, generic technocentric strategies in schools have exacerbated barriers technology integration classroom. Teachers are key successful schools. Factors such as subject culture and pedagogy will affect teachers’ willingness ability adopt classroom, yet subject-specific studies tend focus on STEM subjects at expense of humanities. This mixed-methods study investigates use by teachers pupils A-level history classroom Northern Ireland, through lens Ertmer, P. 1999. “Addressing First- Second-Order Barriers Change: Strategies for Integration.” Educational Research Development 47 (4): 47–61 classification barriers. A number impediments effective were identified minimise these recommended.
